Frequently Asked Questions

What is Law 37? What are the 36 laws before it?

That's two questions, but we'll let that pass for now. Our name is taken from 'The 48 Laws of Power' by Robert Greene and Joost Elffers. The 37th Law is 'Create compelling spectacles', which is what we do!

What is the relationship between Cancer Research UK and Law 37?

Law 37 is an official fundraising committee for Cancer Research UK. We are not employees of Cancer Research UK, and we do not receive any funding from them – we’re all volunteers. But we are in constant contact with Cancer Research UK, who have been extremely helpful and supportive.

So who are these Law 37 people?

We're a group of volunteers from all walks of life. Find out more about us!

Does all of the money raised go to charity?

Yes. A very small proportion of the money - at most, 5% - may go to cover unavoidable expenses incurred by volunteers such as travel, but no-one will be paid for their time.

How can I get involved?

We are often looking for great people to help us. If you are interested in lending a hand, simply e-mail volunteers@law37.com telling us how exactly you think you could help and a bit about yourself and we will try to be in touch (we are very busy though so do be patient!).

How do I sponsor you?

You can sponsor us directly through Operation: Sleeper Cell or by contacting us at sponsorship@operationsleepercell.com. We are also looking for sponsors for our planned Live Events, please get in touch for more details.

How can I play this Operation: Sleeper Cell I have heard so much about?

We are so glad you asked us that! You will find the game at Operation: Sleeper Cell and there is a helpful introductory guide which will get you started right here.

Is Operation: Sleeper Cell an ARG?

Technically yes, though it really doesn't matter what you call it. We don't think there's currently a word for 'stuff which is fun to play, raises money for charity, full of silly humor and encompasses real world happenings'. So, yeah. We just call it an ARG.
